A few things I enjoyed recently, and maybe you will too.
Good lord, I have never been so relieved to finish a month and start another one, but January became so insufferable, it’s nice to have the whole thing bookended and officially over. It’s taking mental strength and an obnoxiously positive attitude to say that was last month, but I’m geared up and ready. I’ve shoved all my bad, sad, cabin fever feelings into January and I’m shutting that door behind me. This is February. This will be better. And easier, and less gray and dismal.
I am particularly looking forward to valantine’s day candy and when it goes on clearance, promptly on 2/15!
+Highs: A few! I read What I Ate in One Year by Stanley Tucci and it was a delight! We had a surprise 50º day with sunshine (!!!) and I’m telling you, it did a world of good for my mental wellbeing. I put my favorite cozy flannel sheets on my bed. Work was mostly smooth sailing all week. I hit my budget goals for the month, which I haven’t really ever tracked my budget, so this felt especially good!
+Lows: All told, the week was a good one. My baby-size complaint was actually around the end of Dry January. I do it every year, it’s fine. Whatever. I figured it was close enough to done on Friday the 31st. so I met a friend after work and had two drinks. That night, I couldn’t sleep! I fell asleep just fine, but woke up a bazillion times through the night. I caught up with a nap on Saturday afternoon, but man, I am so sure it was the alcohol that disturbed my sleep patterns. Dry February on deck? IDK.
Drift Air Freshener // Consistently a best seller for me because it really is the best. The teak scent is elite, and I have recently started putting these in my closet and drawers too.
John Frieda Filler+ // Thickening spray and heat protectant, wrapped up into one convenient spray that smells like a freaking salon. I’m on my second bottle of this and t’s an immediate reorder for me.
Lash Serum // I got the trial size and I’m a week into it. I’ll report back on the results, but so far I’m pleased by how non-irritating it is. I’m following the directions to apply twice a days and the reviews are good, so I’m optimistic! Stay tuned!
Old Navy Bell Sleeve V Neck Sweater // How good is that blue?!
Old Navy Raglan Crewneck // Utilitarian, but I feel like I could lounge around at home in this, or dress it up with a good structured overcoat and necklaces and wear it out and about.
SAD Lamp // It might be placebo, but I flip this baby on after my first cup of coffee and I think it’s helping lift my mood. Who knew we need sunlight that freaking bad?
Under the Sink Organizers // Is it the human condition to need to organize every space immediately after the holidays? I think so. You guys loved these rolling racks for keeping things tidy under the sink.
What I Ate in One Year by Stanley Tucci // A freaking plus. If you’re not initiated, read Taste first, but everyone else who already knows and loves The Torch, this is a slam-dunk.
