Amazon Prime Big Deal Days | Things I buy anyway + a few wishlist goodies

In our carts (and in our hearts)

Is every single GD thing on the internet on sale this week? I appreciate the healthy competition, but Circle Week, Prime Day, and Way Day all piling in the first weeks of Q4 is a little aggressive. If you’re paying full price for anything, you’re wrong. It’s sale somewhere, trust me.

As previously discussed, this stresses me out after a while, so here’s my short list. Things I buy anyway, that I’ll just check to see if it’s on sale, and a few things I’ve had on my wishlist. Happy shopping friends!

Beauty

I bought a UV curing light back in Covid times and I haven’t gotten a professional manicure since. There’s a learning curve, but if you have a steady hand, it’s easy. Endless long lasting manicures for the cost of one in a salon. Loving blue became my entire personality this summer and this reflex blue color is still on every single one of my digits.

Such a sleeper product, but the Julep cream to powder eye shadow sticks are really great quality at a drugstore price point. They’re super creamy and smooth so they don’t drag your eyelid around (I hate that!) and have really good lasting power. I have a stack of these, but use the Pearl and Mauve colors most often.

If you’ve been on any variety of the internet this summer, Color Wow Dream Coat is already on your radar, but I’m here to say it does the damn thing. The directions say to apply liberally and take that advice to heart. The secret is to totally douse your hair.

Books

What I Ate in One Year by Stanley Tucci - I have never preordered a book ever. But I have read Stanley Tucci’s previous book, and I am willing to trust anything he writes henceforth.

All Fours by Miranda July - A woman upends her life. That’s it - I’m sold.

Tin to Table by Anna Hezel - say no more! I love tiny fish and I love the idea of building meals around them.

James by Percival Everett - The classic story of Huckleberry Finn told from another viewpoint.

Misc.

Loop earplugs entered my life when I lost my AirPods last month. I’ve since replaced those, but still reach for the loops when I just need the sound to be turned down a little, without completely drowning things out. I have a habit of sitting with my family in the living room together after dinner, and I pop these in to read while they watch TV and we’re all happy. I can hear them if they talk to me, but the outside sound isn’t otherwise overwhelming.

Get the drift air freshener for your car and thank me later. There is literally nothing that smells nicer. I get the teak scent.

‘Tis the season! I love puzzles and my kids love legos. I like to think this Griswold Christmas house is a nice compromise for the holiday season.

But before I get carried away with Christmas plans, let’s enjoy some Halloween shall we?
