Target Circle Week: October Edition
Things I buy anyway + some wishlist goodies.
Buckle up you guys, sale season is upon us and I just read that holiday sales are going to start earlier than ever. TBH is totally obnoxious, but also, if it’s stuff I buy anyway? Yeah, I’m going to at least peruse.
And so, here we are. Target is running a Cartwheel week to compete with Amazon’s surprise October Prime Days, and at press time, we can expect bonkers deals from October 6-12. Here’s a few things I buy anyway + some wishlist items.
PS - Looking for more? Here’s what I was buying anyway + wishlist goodies from the July edition of Cartwheel week.
STYLE
Target style generally tends to be really hit or miss for me. Some years it’s great, others….I side eye the entire section as I power by, pushing my cart straight to the groceries. This year is a good one! There’s a few things I love and stock up on (the most perfect, versatile tank top of all time) and a few budget friendly trends I’m looking forward to taking for a test drive this fall.
I standby this and will die on this hill: Target makes the best budget leggings available. I took two pairs on a 4 month road trip in 2020 and alternated between them on a daily basis. Paired of course with the aforementioned tank top that at $8 on a regular day, comes in a price point that cannot be beat. I have no less than 10 of these in various shades and wear them year around.
Furthermore, the satin pajama set (robe - pants - cami) is my favorite bargain luxury to slip on after an evening shower. Shaved legs in satin pajamas? Say no more.
Moving on to a few things on my wishlist: I am eager to add this trendy weave-style bag to my arsenal, but the tan canvas style also caught my eye. I know I can always use a trendy pair of rainboots, and I like this pair’s chunky style. The slightly cropped t-shirt looks well fitted and comes in a slew of colors. And do I need a teddy-bear sweater? Frankly I think we all do come October.
BEAUTY
This week will largely be a restock of items I have and love and use on a constant basis. I read recently that if you’re looking for quality skincare, you can basically skip Sephora altogether (gasp! I know!) and instead head straight to dermatologist-beloved items from a drugstore or actual medical grade products from a true skin doctor. Well, that’s a surprise, but advice I’m willing to take. The La Roche Posay brand is truly top tier and I love this cleansing oil for a clean that doesn’t feel drying. I am also a stan for big ol’ tin of Nivea cream. It’s a classic for a reason.
The elf Pout Clout lippy sticks are my go-to - although I’ll say I usually just wear the clear coconut scented one. They’re just slightly buzzy feeling on the lips, and generally stay put. I wanted the higher end Tarte brand initially, but have found this supposed dupe so satisfactory, I see no need for the upcharge.
Kristin Ess is my go-to shampoo/conditioner brand based entirely on the scent it leaves behind. And I recently tested out the WOW Dream Coat spray and really liked the results. I will say you have to take the “apply liberally” advice very seriously. Spray spray spray!
Finally I have this frenshe palo santo sage scent on my radar. I’m currently on the hunt for a fall scent and this could do the trick. We’ll see!
MISC.
Fun and a little weird - my favorite category!
I bought the vanilla chai candle on a whim a few weeks ago and after one single burn, I intentionally put the candle on my shopping list to stock up. It’s a warm scent without being pumpkin spice, or worse, apple-something. I get so bored of everything smelling the same, but this is nicely different while still having a spicy fall scent.
Purely for aesthetics, I am into this kettle, which I do not have any need for whatsoever, as well as this radio. Remember the radio?! Sometimes I try to explain to my kids a time when music would play but you couldn’t choose the song. They do not believe me. I still love a little background music, and I’m very interested in the idea of a kitschy cute radio to hum along with.
Now, do we think snake candle holders are specifically for halloween, or could I create a vibe in my home that makes these appropriate for all year? I vote option 2, honestly.
