Weekly Recs | Week of July 22- August 11
A few things I enjoyed recently and maybe you will too.
A long list today friends because as much as I thought I’d been chugging away, business as usual, I guess my brain has been in summer break mode. Which is not to say I actually took any kind of summer vacation, but I haven’t been updating my weekly recs on….well, a weekly basis. But I’m still consuming at my regular rate, so I have some fun things to share!
Anklet Stack - Amazon | I have been droning on and on about these, but if you want a genuine and authentic recommendation, these fit the bill. I bought this $4 stack in July when I decided I wanted to test drive being an anklet girlie, and here we are a month later. I haven’t taken them off. Cute and makes me look more fun than I actually am.
Ribbed Tank Top - Target | Another one you’ll be bored of hearing about, but this is ingredient number 1 in my summer uniform. I have a few gray ones that I basically just rotate daily, and when I’m feeling as fun as my anklets suggest, a swap in a teal or maybe even - whoa calm down crazy! - blue.
Cream Eye Shadow Stick - Julep | A true beauty steal at on $12-$16-ish and usually they run these on sale every month or so. Super creamy and easy to blend, these will never drag on your eyelids (my number 1 stick pet peeve). Great color payoff too.
Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty | A mother goes missing and her four adult children with a variety of secrets of their own come together to find her. Their dad is acting weird and then there’s also that weird chick that showed up the fall before.
Carnival of Snackery by David Sedaris | Bite sized snacks for readers who enjoy Sedaris’ longer form essays, or just laughing in general. I gulped this baby down.
UV Light for Gel Polish - Amazon | As the great Amanda Bynes said in her early 2000’s hey-day, if you have a steady hand, there’s no need to get a manicure. I’m paraphrasing, but I am cosigned. Get yourself some gel polish and a UV curing light and you too, can have long lasting, super shiny nails in the comfort of your own home. I bought one during the pandemic years and haven’t gotten a pro manicure since.
Nalgene Bottle - Amazon | They’re coming back, baby! As everything early millennia comes back around, so too do the first water bottle craze: the elite Nalgene bottle. I can smell that musty water in my dreams.
Tin to Table - Amazon | Are you telling me, we can orchestrate an entire meal around tiny fish found in a tin? Say less.
