The Beauty Products I Buy Over and Over Again

I’m in my 30’s, which for me is proving to be the part of my life where my skin is beginning to betray me. It’s not just accidentally luminescent anymore among other disappointments, and I’m generally willing to try all kinds of potions and wizardry to reclaim it. All this is to say that I’ve spent a lot of money at Sephora and I’ve wasted a lot of money, but what I have learned is that some products really do what they say they will, and they’re spendy, okay? But they do the damn job.

I get the lightest color and it looks scary in the packaging because it’s SO dark, but I promise you this product is a miracle. Like, the name is not misleading at all - it blurs things, makes me look just the right amount of sun kissed (in January, no less!) and literally enhances my whole face. I get anxious when I run low, and always keep a back-up in my cabinet. I don’t want to be dramatic, but this a desert island item for me.

Desert island item number two - this is the high end product that taught me the value of high end products. It blends so beautifully and when I dot dot dot under my eyes, it makes me look awake. Honestly, the rest of the make-up is a waste of time if I don’t have this, it does that good of a job completing the look.

Beware the clown look, because this stuff is very pigmented and a tiny dot goes a long way. Honestly, I get the trial size for $14 and it lasts a good six months, but then you only have one color choice. It’s a good color though tbh.

I’m not really obsessed with clean beauty, so the fact that this is supposedly clean is just a cherry on top, I guess. What I am obsessed with is lashes that are not clumpy, but look full and dark. This product, this wizardry, somehow achieves my deepest desires, without a single bumpy clump. I am V loyal.

The price is…a lot, but it’s worth it and it will last you quite a while. I am generally not a powder gal (so dry), but this really does blur every offensive line and pore that I have, so I apply sparingly to most of my face and finish it off with a good dewy setting spray. I can confirm it does not look cakey and you’d never know my skin is practically saharan level dry underneath. I call this my “real life Instagram filter” because that’s exactly what it achieves.

It’s tough to give or take scent recommendations over the internet, so you’re just going to have to trust me when I say this is a bonafide banger. The schtick is that it’s supposed to respond to your body PH and temperature or some other woo woo and smell different on everyone. I don’t know if that’s true, but I like the way it smells on me. It’s bright, not musky or vanilla-y AT ALL, and just smells clean.
