3 Mini Sizes I Bought in Full Size

If you’ve been here for more than 10 minutes, you already know that I am a freaking die-hard for the mini sizes. I’ve just been burned too many times by my own blind optimism and willingness to whip out my credit card for the a miracle. Fun examples? Sure -

I spent $46 on a full size setting powder on recommendation of an influencer that I love and trust. But…..worked for her, not for me.

Went way too hard for a blurring powder that wound up being expensive and cakey. I still want to love this, so I take it out and retry it every once in a while, but alas, my skin type is just too dry.

Suffice to say, I’ve learned my lesson and if there’s a mini version to try out first, you know I’m buying it. I’d always rather be out $15 than $45 and if I don’t end up liking it, I don’t feel guilty at all.

Ilia Fullest Volumizing Mascara Mini

Literally the best mascara on the market. I don’t really shop around for mascaras anymore because I’m beholden to this (and Better Than Sex + Foreplay Primer). I toggle between the two, but TBH, Ilia is my favorite. It’s lengthening and volumizing and never ever clumpy (hallelujah!). Plus, as a bonus, it’s clean beauty.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

This is my holy grail product. If I’m on a desert island and weirdly have a need for concealer, this is the one I’m grabbing. It is THEE best. I have repurchased the full size many times, but first, I got the mini. It won me over with its flawless finish and how beautifully it wears all day long. The rest of my make-up is a waste of time if I don’t have this, so I literally wear it every single day.

The nicest thing about this mini is that it’s available in a huge range of colors. I’ve noticed that most minis have really limited color options, but Nars goes all out, providing every color in mini and full size options.

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion Mini

My sister hooked me on this 10+ years ago when she showed up to a night out with glitter shadow all over her lids. Well, actually, she sold me when it was still there the next morning. We were kids, skincare wasn’t trendy yet, and nobody was washing their face before bed (not after a night out anyway). The point is, this stuff is like superglue for your eye make-up, but magically doesn’t feel sticky or tacky and works especially well if you have oily lids (like I do).

And now they have an anti-aging version that I’m probably going to try out - in the mini version of course!
