Weekly Recs | Week(s) of May 6-26
A little catch up on everything I recently enjoyed -
aerie Extra Salty Socks | An apt nametag for my ankles. Extra salty is how I like my replies, my margarita rim, my olives, etc etc.
Amazon Boxer Shorts | Tons of colors available, and a nice budget friendly way to take the boxer shorts as actual shorts trend for a spin.
Amazon Striped Maxi Dress in Watermelon | Love this maxi dress in the pink and red stripe, but I’m also interested in the green. It just feels easy to wear to work or play.
Anchovy Stuffed Olives | Look, I know this is a niche recommendation, but if you too like things very salty and especially tiny fish, this is the most delicious olive ever. EVER.
Astor: The Rise and Fall of an American Fortune - Anderson Cooper and Katherine Howe | In the same vein as Vanderbilt, which I voraciously consumed last summer, this details the rise and inevitable fall of the Astor family wealth. Shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations, they say.
elf Dewy Setting Spray | This was a surprise. I’ve been testing out setting sprays for a few months now and I have tried some real cult favorites (aka expensive). So far they’ve been okay at best, which ain’t okay at $40 a pop. I was surprised to find the elf version the best of the bunch and easily the best priced.
J Crew Kids Taco T Shirt | This was served to me as an IG ad and I clicked it, fully expecting to make an impulse buy. Jokes on me - it’s a kids shirt, but rather than immediately buying it for my son, I wondered if I might be able to squeeze into a Boy’s XL.
Nalgene Bong Water Bottle | Nalgene was the Stanley of my youth, and I harbor deep nostalgic feelings for this cheeky version.
The Gap Striped Polo Sweater | Just an immediate yes.
Sun Bum Cool Down | Summertime is here and while of course we should all be wearing our sunscreen, but sometimes you just catch too much sun. I’m loyal to the Sun Bum brand and this just works. Keep it in the fridge for all the obvious reasons.
Good and Gather (Target) Rainbow Sherbet Sparkling Water | I saw this recommended by one of my favorite IG accounts to follow, my.sister.made.me.buy.it , so when I saw it stocked in my Target store, I grabbed a bottle. It’s great! Somehow captures the taste of rainbow sherbet, but isn’t sweet? Witchcraft.
The Art of Friday Night Dinner - Elanor Staefel | On my immediate to-buy list, and I’m just waiting for some kind of event to self-congratulate for so I can justify buying another cookbook. But look how beautiful it is! And Friday nights ARE special!
