Weekly Recs | March 23, 2025
A few things I enjoyed recently and maybe you will too.
Hey guys! How’s your week? Are we all getting high on the little glimpses of spring being sprinkled into the month? March feels like it’s positively zooming by and maybe because I’m not wallowing in self-pity and dread everyday? IDK but I like it!
I owe you a few report outs on things I bought in previous Weekly Recs editions. Things I inevitably said “I just ordered this and I’ll report back!” followed by crickets of course. Here’s the brief rundown:
Classic Square Watch - $23 // love it! It’s smaller than I thought it would be, but no complaints. The clasp is kind of unique, and doesn’t require any tools to resize, which is another unexpected perk. It has replaced my big bulky smart watch and looks so much more chic! I am no longer ruining every outfit with a Fitbit.
Weighted Vest (10lbs) - $33 // Obviously I immediately put this on when it arrived. I was puttering around at home, doing laundry and you should have heard me huff and puff my way up the stairs with a basket of laundry on my hip. I waffled between the 10lb and 15lb version, but ultimately I’m really glad I went with 10lbs. It’s plenty heavy! I wear it while walking and sometimes while running errands because it hides nicely under my winter coat.
Lash Serum - $19 // I’ve been using very consistently for 2 months now, morning and night. And maybe I need to give it more time, but honestly I don’t see much of a difference. I’ll use it up just to be sure, but will probably try something else next time.
Alright - back to scheduled programing!
Highs // I had the best Saturday, complete with some productivity in the morning, an AM and a PM nap, a stop at a new-to-me burger joint with a big basket of hot fries, and finally rotting on the couch with my husband, watching old episodes of Anthony Bourdain in Parts Unknown. I ate a bowl of Lucky Charms and critiqued the fancy food Tony was eating in Newfoundland. Aside from beach Saturdays in the summer, this is my perfect way to spend a weekend day.
Lows // I have some pre-stress for next week. More than half my department is OOO next week, taking spring break with their families, and that leaves just a handful of us to do our own job + cover for someone else. My department is accounts/client services so it’s a big ol’ scoop of something heavy on an already full plate. I know I’ll get through it, but I have some anxiety for what an absolute firestorm next week is going to be!
I’m headed off for a long weekend in Chicago at the end, so I have something to look forward to and that’ll be the gas in my engine!
Photos are linked!
A&F Spicy Jalapeno Sweatshirt // Just a fun way to announce my general disposition - ha!
A&F Striped Three-Quarter Pullover // Love this loose, slouchy pullover that could look really casual, or zjushed up with crisp trousers for an office look.
American Eagle Graphic Tee // Graphic tees are back and the middle school version of myself is happy to reappear. Sold!
Amazon Drop Strappy Flat Sandals // The BIG sale is coming, and I have these strappy flats ready to rock in my cart. I’m imagining these with a loose boho-y dress while I sip a crisp white on an outdoor patio, you know?
Cobalt Blue Birk Dupes // Last year I scoured the internet for a pair of cobalt blue Birkenstocks that were sold-out all summer long. I stumbled on these more economical dupes last week and I think this will scratch the itch nicely.
Glossier You Body Butter // Big fan over here of the YOU scent and with Sephora’s spring sale coming up, I have this at the top of my wishlist. I really love how I can skip the perfume with a good scented body butter - it feels like the scent is simultaneously more subtle but also lingers longer.
Stacking Koi Cups // What a fun party trick! It’s totally for vanity, but I love the look of this fun stack.
Table for Two by Amor Towles // Currently reading this book of short stories (+one novella) by one of the living greats. I’m through the first three short stories and they’re all excellent. Because they’re short stories, I think this is the perfect purse book, ideal for pulling out while waiting for an oil change, or in the dentist’s office. The stories are just long enough to consume 30 minutes start to finish and they’re so delightfully written.
