Target Circle Week

Things I buy anyway + a few wishlist goodies

Buckle up, you guys. Things are about to get wild as we enter what is effectively the summertime version of Black Friday. Anyone who works in sales knows that summer is slow down season, because most of us have other things on our minds; sun, get buzzed on a beach, eating hot dogs, etc. So the big corps have to remind us how much we love shopping by presenting us with sales. Big ones.

TBH I get really overwhelmed by this. When it all coincides and it feels like the entire internet is on sale, it’s like I don’t know which way to look. The first day is fun, the second day probably is too, but I’m ready to sit things out pretty quickly. So, I’m not here to blast you with sales or things to frantically put in your cart. Rather, a short report out on the things I buy anyway or have bought and really enjoyed + a few wishlist items. I’m not even sure any of these things are on sale. I just know I’ll check and if so, snag ‘em up because I’d definitely buy them full price, so I might as well capitalize on a sale price.

SPF

I’m serious about SPF and I like it boujee. I love that Target started carrying the Vacation Brand, especially the Classic Lotion. It’s easily the best smelling brand in the biz and feels luxurious to do a head-to-toe application.

For a daily driver, SunBum is great and smells just like my childhood summers. I stand behind SPF 30 as a family friendly basic, and the Cool Down aloe vera gel after a day at the beach is top-tier (I store mine in the fridge for an extra satisfying post-sun application).

But my biggest SPF holy grail is the SunBum Glow 30. I wear this on my face every single day - alone and under make-up - and it literally lights up my whole face with healthiest glow-from-within with the added bonus of good, functional sun protection.

BEAUTY

e.l.f is constantly proving itself to be a bargain brand with a high end delivery. After test driving some of the spendiest setting sprays, it’s the e.l.f Power Grip Dewy Setting Spray and the Dewy Coconut Setting Spray that do it best for me. I’d give a slight edge to the Power Grip for the ultra fine mist application and longevity.

Similarly Pout Clout is amazing. I haven’t even tried higher end versions because I’m perfectly satisfied with this $10 stick. Great pigment and a good buzzy feeling that comes with plumping action.

Weleda Skin Food is a cult classic with good reason. I buy this regularly at full price because it’s the only thing that nourishes my winter-time skin. IDK if it’s on sale this week, but I’d stock up if its even a penny off.

Kristin Ess makes for great drugstore haircare. The purple shampoo is always in my shower and it smells amazing. Same goes for the volumizing mousse that I apply at my roots before blowdrying.

Olive & June press-ons have surprising longevity for a $10 kit and come in the most fun designs.

STYLE

This stuff sells out fast, so I’d run if I were you.

American Flag Sweater that gives serious Ralph Lauren vibes is under $20 this week.

I’ve been plugging these so-called Baggie Shorts all week. Are they actually baggie, or just like, not skin tight like we’re used to? I’d argue the former, but whatever the case, I’m here for the long inseam, high rise, and loose fit around the thigh. Hallelujah.

The maxi beach cover up that I impulse bought after spotting it in my peripheral. I feel like a GD grecian goddess as I parade through the house in this cover up.

Okay, this recommendation is my strongest conviction. I have at least 10 of these ribbed tank-tops in various colors and while they’re on sale for $7, I’ll probably grab more. They’re great, super versatile, and come in all kinds of colors. Size up though, unless midriff baring is your thing. I know it’s trendy right now, but it ain’t for me.

RANDOM STUFF

If you’ve been here for more than a minute, you know I’ve been droning on and on about the summer Bubly melted ice pop flavor. It is THEE drink of the summer and if July had a flavor, this would be it. Friends, an 8-pack is a mere $3 right now, so if you don’t trust me, just try it and we’ll argue later.

I got this Bistro Patio Table set a few weeks ago to fill a small space on my front porch. Super sturdy for the price and I perch up at this table every single day with a coffee or lunch and I’m telling you that eating/drinking outside does wonders for my mood.

Classic, if not totally basic white sneakers that regularly run around $30, which is pretty dang fair if you ask me.

Salad Freak by Jess Damuck, also for seasonal eating freaks who want evidence that salads don’t have to be boring AF.

WISHLIST

A pretty light list, tbh. I’m just not in the mood for shopping, I guess, but I’ve heard very good things about the Target leggings, and I’m always open to test driving another pair of comfy pants (especially with “ultra soft” in the name). The red sneakers caught my eye too, because eventually, flip-flop season will end (sad) and I’ll want fun shoes to perk me up again.

Ooh, and I’m crazy for easy dresses that look chic, but feel like pajamas. Top tier work wear. For under $20, this green striped number is a no-brainer.
